Backstory
I’m Adam Khan from East Meadow, NY, a folkstyle and freestyle wrestler chasing the dream of competing at the NCAA Division I level and ultimately becoming an NCAA D1 All-American and National Champion. My entry into the sport was completely unexpected—one day, my little brother brought home a paper about a kids clinic, and when I went with him, watching them on the mats made something click instantly. I fell in love with wrestling that day, but jumping in as a 9th grader meant I was starting miles behind competitors who had been on the mat since they were little kids or middle schoolers. After facing a steep learning curve, losing a lot early on, and taking my lumps, my actual competitive season truly kicked off in 10th grade when I earned a varsity spot. People laughed and said I didn’t belong, but that only fueled my work ethic—I refused to listen to anyone who doubted me, putting in endless hours at camps, year-round clubs, and top tournaments. That relentless push paid off as I placed at Catholic States, earned podium finishes at NYS Freestyle and Greco States, and went 4-2 at both NHSCA High School Nationals and USA Wrestling Fargo Nationals, picking up wins against state placers and champions along the way. Now heading into my 12th-grade year, I’m entirely locked in on making this senior season my most dominant yet—leaving everything on the mat to accomplish my immediate goals while building the foundation for the long run at the Division I level. I’ve proved I belong, I will never quit, and I’m ready to do whatever it takes to turn these dreams into reality.
Why ADAM KHAN Loves Wrestling
I love wrestling because it's an amazing feeling and a pure rush of adrenaline every time you step onto the mat. There’s nothing quite like the high stakes pressure, the fierce competition, and the raw grit of combat sports, especially wrestling, where you get to go all out. I live for the thrill of the fight, the spotlight, and the feeling of having all eyes on me when it's time to perform. Beyond the battle, it’s my safe space that forces me to break through my limits and builds me into the absolute best version of myself.
